You've probably met a mother who seems to know everything. Who seems to have that kind of ageless wisdom that springs up from somewhere eternal, and who shares it with grace.
On the farm, Mother Earth does that for us every day. She's peerlessly thoughtful, inquisitive, and perceptive. She teaches us when we're open enough to learn from her and, at other times, patiently waits for us to catch up. On our best days, we embody her wisdom, passing it on to the many incredible women and mothers in our lives.
This Mother's Day, we wanted to share a favorite poem with you that we think captures some of this understanding.
this is the recipe of life
said my mother
as she held me in her arms as i wept
think of those flowers you plant
in the garden each year
they will teach you
that people too
must wilt
fall
root
rise
in order to bloom
- rupi kaur
May you find some of that same feeling as you celebrate the women in your life.
