Greenhouse Team Member

DESCRIPTION:

The Greenhouse Team Member is a part-time, year-round position and is a key player in all aspects of greenhouse crop seeding, propagation, transplanting and harvesting. No Saturday or Sunday work unless requested.  Most work will be done in a controlled environment greenhouse between 65-85 degrees.  Year-round outdoor work will also need to be done as assigned.  

This person will work with the entire team at Snuck Farm in carrying out the mission and vision of the farm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•       Perform initial seeding of plants with accuracy and speed.

•       Propagate seedlings in propagation area of farm using the techniques outlined by manager and monitor development of seedlings daily ensuring proper temperature, water, and nutrient requirements are maintained.  

•       Transplant crops in the greenhouse on a weekly basis

•       Participate in harvesting of crops throughout the week

•       Assist with bagging and labeling greens for all orders each week

•       Follow and carry out the Snuck Farm Safety and Sanitation Plan every day with all other team members at the farm.  

•       Participate and carry out the Snuck Farm Integrated Pest Management Program every day with all other team members at the farm.  

•       Clean growing channels and other farm equipment, tables, floors, area etc. as assigned each week.  

•       Make deliveries in company vehicle as needed.  


GENERAL
:

•       Assist with Farmyard duties when needed.  These things are done outside at any given time, year-round.

•       Assist and with events happening at the farm as needed. 

•       Work with customers at the farm stand as needed.  


REQUIREMENTS:

•       Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

•       Current Utah Food Handlers Permit required  

•       Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

•       Must have a valid Utah Drivers License  

•       Must be able to lift 50lbs and be able to work on feet all day.
