New opportunities to learn on the farm

If you’ve been receiving these emails for any amount of time - or even if you haven’t - you probably know I love a good gathering. Although I cherish my time alone, I also cherish the moments when we can get together, share in creativity, and learn something new. It’s why I’m attending the Gather fundraiser for the Red Acre Center, and why we’re hosting some upcoming classes and workshops for the community. I’m deeply excited to share these with you, and to invite you to come join us here on the farm.

Cut Flower Fields to Vase Workshop

August 15, 7-8:30 pm
Learn all the ins and outs of the flower harvest, as well as how to turn those harvested flowers into beautiful bouquets! We’ll visit the Snuck Farm flower beds to develop some flower knowledge, then pick a selection of favorites to bring inside and arrange. You’ll gain a new appreciation for the variety of locally grown flowers, and the skills to make the most of seasonal blooms.

Kids Cooking Series

September 11-December 12, 6:30-7:30 pm
In this 13-week class, kids ages 10-13 will develop their confidence in the kitchen. We’re empowering young people to take ownership of their food and their choices. They’ll learn basic safety and knife skills, cooking techniques, and healthy, whole-food recipes that make the most of local, seasonal options. In a small group setting, children will learn about the food choices available to them, and reflect on how those choices reverberate through their lives and environment. They’ll leave with greater knowledge and ownership of their food choices.

Back-to-School Greens Class

September 19, 7 pm
An annual favorite, the Back-to-School Greens class returns! Join us at this fall classic to refresh your greens game, learning some simple ways to keep greens front-and-center on your family’s table. We’ll discuss new recipes, cooking techniques, and strategies for making healthful eating easy and sustainable.

To support you as you continue making greens a part of your family's diet, the cost of the class will be applied towards a new Snuck Share, an upgrade to an existing share, or add-ons for existing share members.
