Intuitive Gardening using Observation and Experimentation

Saturday, March 20, 2021
2:00pm-3:30 PM

Observation and intuition are two essential ingredients for cultivating a bountiful garden. In this workshop, Farmer Mariana, Snuck Farm’s resident dirt farmer, will share what she’s learned by approaching gardening using Mother Nature as her guide. Learn how the skills of observation and experimentation can give you a foundation that will help you have a more successful growing season working with nature, not against it.

Whether your goal is to grow a large garden, incorporate more edible plants into your landscape, or to have a patio herb garden, this class will help give you the confidence to unleash your inner green-thumb.

What to expect:

  • Information on recognizing micro-climates in your yard and how to optimize your plantings.
  • Read the comings and goings of the seasons based on weeds and perennials.
  • Become familiar with what crops to plant each season.
  • Understand how to preempt pests by knowing what to look for and best practices.
  • An observational walking tour of the Snuck Farm grounds to see the principles discussed in action.
  • A notebook perfect for recording your observations in the garden this year.
  • Class will be held in both our Market Garden Greenhouse and outside, so dressing in layers and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended.
