March 7th, 7:00 PM- 8:30 PM at Snuck Farm
Did you know that there are almost 20,000 known species of bees? They’re found on every continent with flowering plants, and play a key role in ecosystems around the globe. In this workshop, Susie Goodspeed of Susie Bee Good Honey will share her extensive knowledge of bees native to our area of the country, including types of bees that you might see in your flower garden. She’ll discuss native bee beekeeping, which is vital to the health of our flora. But this isn’t just an opportunity to talk - it’s also an opportunity to take action. In the last part of the workshop, you’ll build your own native beehive, and take it home along with five native bees to start your beekeeping journey.
